Christmas in the drunk tank

Christmas in New York har blivit tradition för mig.

I´ve been wrapping pressies for the little ones and listening to the Pogues sing about a miserable Christmas in New York. The lovely Chatham Girl, Zara, popped in today to drop off some very charming berets. They are in lovely wool and hand embroidered. We have "Sailor", "Love" and "Ahoy" to choose from, and I got "Vixen" for christmas, which I love!

Sneaky preview

Preview of one of the pictures which Michael has taken for the exhibition. The hat, which I've shown on here before, is inspired by the Grimm brothers fairy tales. The picture is taken on a beautiful old 5x4 camera, and we've also shot two other hats and a collar. The exhibition opens August 21st at Östgötagatan 66!

Hattifnatt

Typ.

Here's a couple of shots of the first had I made for our accessories project. It's inspired by the Grimm fairytales, and has a little plastic cherub with a bird's tailfeather and a pearl belt. Obviously.

In other news I'm ill again (or possibly still), so I am struggling to form sentences and will therefore stop writing now.

Hats galore

With the royal wedding in Stockholm today, and Ascot madness in full swing in the UK, it's the perfect time for some interesting headwear! In August, the shop will be showcasing a dozen artists who have been working around the theme of accessories. Michael and I are making a contribution inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairytaled, and will consist of heavily stylised images of the accessories I am making at the moment. The first hat is about love, sadness, and being a bit of a freak. Pictures coming soon!

Chapter 1 - part the second (where I forget about my troubles and think of the pretty clothes)

Shoot for eventual website with vintage goodies. Lovely Z looking like a movie star.

See this hat? Do you see? It has actual magical powers and makes anyone in its vincinity experience actual happiness!
It must be made from some extinct, madly extatic animal. I imagine some sort of joyous weasel with solid gold teeth, living off truffles and champagne.
I know I will probably have to sell this one day (what with the selling things and eventually making some money being the main idea behind setting up a shop), but before then I must devise a way of bottling whatever blissfull essence it exudes.
