Poplin flea market & shop

Around the corner from Slussen tube station lies design collective Poplin, and yesterday they were having a little flea market outside the shop, as well as keeping the shop itself open for browsing, of course. There was also a very exciting hat party in the evening, which I was very sad to miss.

I wiggled into one of my favourite dresses - a late fifities cocktail number which was perfect for the chilly Stockholm day.

Among the other great stuff in the shop, Elsa aka Etiquette has some super cute bow ties and mini-ties as well as hair bows. They are all so well made, from vintage and vintage style fabrics, and I am obviously a big fan. 

The shop itself is very well designed and airy, while it stocks so many lovely accessories and garments.

This embroidered brooch with "eerie trees" caught my eye. 

Lovely turban wrap from Ruth Hannah paired with a dress from Orkan Lia for a lovely fifties look.

They also have children's clothing, all hand made and retro by Mandalou Design. Super cute simple dresses which I am sure will last your little one and any others to follow.

The Orkan Lia dresses have been a favourite for a while, she makes lovely day and evening dresses in fifties and sixties styles, from retro and vintage fabrics. 

The flea market outside the shop had some really lovely items, shoes, accessories and clothes. The jeans in the picture below were amazing, but were unfortunately not available in my size. So flea market or no flea market, Poplin is central, filled with lovely people and even lovlier, hand-made designs. Make sure to visit!

Sofo Night

Det här inlägget är försenat på grund av en resa till England, men bättre sent än aldrig! 


Senaste Sofo night blev en riktigt gedigen runda av området, och vi betade av East Street Piercing, där det bjöds på rosé och choklad, och Daisy Dapper, där jag inhandlade min fina adresslapp bland annat. Sedan bar det iväg till Nada, där nummer två av tidningen SOFO firades, lästes och skålades på. Har du inte ditt nummer än, så kan du plocka upp det i butiken nu!

Vidare från Nada blev det Big Jeffs Rockabilly Hangout hos Bröderna Olsson, yatzee, vin, gott sällskap och fniss som avslutades med en inte helt spikrak resa hem. 

Som sagt har jag nu återvänt från en kortare resa till England, och lägger upp lite bilder från den imorgon! Jag letade febrilt efter vintage, men det gav tyvärr inga resultat. Detta har jag dock rättat till med lite shopping idag, och ett litet antal underbara femtiotalsklänningar har redan påbörjat resan till butiken från Amerika.

Sofo Night

Igår kväll var det våran allra första Sofo Night, och vi hade det jättetrevligt! Efter stängningsdags gick ett par av oss vidare för att ta en drink, och tyvärr blev jag serverad gammalt vin som gav mig alkoholförgiftning. Mår inte så bra idag, därav ett superkort inlägg, bara för att visa upp ett par fina bilder som Michael tog, och för att påminna om att imorgon är vi på Basar Under, så kom och hälsa på oss, och fynda!

Mödels

Unfortunately moving countries has left me with a shortage of model friends (not that there are no pretty people in Stockholm, I just don't know anyone here since I've been abroad for 15 years), so I must get working on getting the most photogenic people I know in England to come and visit first to get some shoots done.

We're also discussing getting a nice variety of women together to show how the brand can have appeal to a wider audience (I'm very open minded and PC - they can be different sizes and ethnicities and ages and everything. As long as they're hot).
Tonight the boyfriend arrives after two months of working in England, and that means we can start doing photoshoots again, which I'm very excited about! We're going to do a series of short shoots hopefully using a great variety of models, like my pregnant little sister, a couple of her friends maybe, a few of Mama Kellermans friends and so on.

In the meantime, Mama Kellerman has totally mastered eBay and is acquiring gorgeous vintage quickly. We're still working on getting her to appreciate things which aren't exactly in her style, but I think a nicely styled shoot should do the trick.

We're also halfway to getting a shop in SoFo, and meeting with the landlady on Friday, hoping to get everything signed and done then. Keep your fingers crossed for that one - I don't think I fully comprehend all the technicalities so will be on time and look smart and hope that that will be enough.
